ACE Controls is a globally recognized specialist in industrial damping technology, originally founded in Farmington Hills, Michigan in 1962. The company designs and manufactures motion and vibration control products used to improve machine performance, reduce wear, lower noise, and protect equipment from damaging impact forces. ACE products are commonly specified in automation, packaging, material handling, robotics, machine tool, medical, food processing, and general industrial applications where controlled deceleration or vibration isolation is critical.

The ACE product range is organized around four major categories: Automation Control, Motion Control, Vibration Control, and Safety Products. Automation Control includes miniature shock absorbers, industrial shock absorbers, heavy industrial shock absorbers, TUBUS profile dampers, and SLAB damping pads. These products are engineered to slow moving loads smoothly by converting kinetic energy into heat, helping machines run faster, quieter, and with less mechanical stress compared with rubber bumpers, springs, dashpots, or pneumatic cylinder cushions.

ACE industrial shock absorbers are one of the company’s core product families and are available in self-compensating and adjustable designs. According to the ACE catalog, the range includes more than 200 models, from compact units with strokes as short as 0.16 inches to heavy-duty models with strokes up to 16 inches. Depending on the application, ACE shock absorbers can absorb energy from 6 in-lb per cycle up to 1,120,000 in-lb per cycle, with effective weight ranges from 1.10 lbs up to 225 tons. This broad range allows engineers to select a precise damping solution for everything from small pneumatic slides to heavy industrial equipment.

ACE also offers extensive Motion Control products, including industrial gas springs, pull-type gas springs, hydraulic dampers, hydraulic feed controls, and rotary dampers. These components are used when controlled movement, counterbalancing, feed-rate regulation, or smooth bidirectional damping is required. For vibration problems, ACE provides rubber-metal isolators, vibration-isolating pads, and low-frequency pneumatic leveling mounts to help isolate sensitive equipment from harmful vibration. The Safety Products line includes safety shock absorbers, safety dampers, and clamping elements designed for applications where controlled emergency stopping or machine protection is required.
